New clocopops designs
Well I’ve been a busy thing this weekend making new design pieces for my new portfolio www.clocopops.co.uk. The first image I intended to use a water effect but after looking for inspiration realised this was a bit over done and wanted to do something different. I decided upon the idea of electricity but with a 3d twist. Getting the lighting right was probably the most complicated parts of the design. I created this image using Illustrator and photoshop, using illustrators 3d tools for the line work. Here it is the new design

Design number two was based around a robot idea, I love geometry inspired design and also glitches which you notice features in every one of my designs. I tried to bring all these element together in this Illustration. Again this was built in photoshop and illustrator. More of a robotic self portrait, note to self must annoy friends to let me take pictures of them as its lightly strange cutting yourself out.
Let me know what you think to these designs
New typogrphy design in the making
Last night I gave myself two options after work. Design or film, sadly enough I chose design! as I’m trying to spruce up my portfolio. I started off just looking through a few blogs seeing what was about and what was n at the moment. I decided to see where my own imagination could take me this time and not follow tutorials on how to design this and that. I’ve tried to make something that fits the current trend and you know what i feel I’m very close with it. Still a way to go yet but so far I can see it has potential. See what you think to my typography design…
After a further hour of photoshopping this is how its starting to look, not sure if I want to add anymore I think I need to stand back from it for a while before i kill it lol.
POP illustration – part 1
In the bid to update my portfolio I randomnly started drawing swirls and got a bit carried away to say the least. I’ve copied my drawing thus far into illustrator and redrawn it (which took me hours!!) now for the fun part colouring in with Illustrators new features yayyy, I am so sad. Here’s the piece so far. see what you think. I know exactly how I want it to look so you shall see the finished piece very soon now …

As you can see from this image its starting to take shape, I used some standard shapes in the background ith the opacity set to 30% just to give it a bit more contrast and look fuller.
Work in progress
After todays photographysesion I got straight onto my computer and started basically destroying the image. So far all i’ve done is used various brushesto amke the body of the vehicle look disconnected and exagerated in places. There are tones of really good free brushes on the net mine were from bittbox.com.

As you can probably tell there’s still allot of work to be done as the kart appears to be floating and doesn’t really gel together yet. I’m not sure what ill turn it into I’m still mulling ideas so if anyone has an idea then share away cause I’ve looked at it today for far to long.
Botanical Advert
This is a quarter page advert Idesigned which will be published in Junes GS magazine. I created the image using the free vectors available from www.bittbox.com, definately worth a look as it includes all sorts of fantastic freebies and tutorials to get any designer worked up. I then used illustrator to build up this botanical style illustration.

Telegraph Illustrations
I’m currently working on an editorial which will be published in the Sunday Telegraph. So obviously I’m quite nervous about the whole thing. The only problem I appear to be having is editing the images for the piece. I have no backdrops that would fit eekkk so instead I’ve tried to illustrate a background. I really like the effect, and I’m quite surprised by how much the Product has been bought out by it. See what you think to it …
